Blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to maroon spine panel. Nice tight copy, no names inside. ; Book Club Edition; 256 pages; 1940 and German troops are on the Channel Islands. A small islet there, its people, the occupying troops and a cow called Venus are the subject of this enchanting novel. Based I believe on a real incident, where a pedigree Guernsey was snatched back to England from under the German noses!
